Bermuda Attractions
There are a lot of scenic places to visit on the islands of Bermuda, and it will take more than one trip to make sure you have fully seen all of the highlights. Self guided tours, guided tours and just looking at the beauty of the islands are all part of the vacation experience, but there are a few places that are official attractions and should be visited if possible.
Crystal Caves Bermuda
The Crystal Caves are underground caves with “lakes” of water. Crystal formations were created millions of years ago and are found hanging from the top of the caves and resided at the bottom of the lakes. The caves have been equipped with lighting so that even the formations at the bottom of the lake can be easily seen. Some of the formations hanging from the ceiling are very rare and are beautifully set off by the perfect blue of the lakes. The lakes are connected the ocean through passageways. Tours and a gift shop are open daily all year, and the caves are easily accessible by using the public bus system.
Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo
Bermuda may not big a large country but it makes up for the size with the amazing use of the space they do have. BAMZ is the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo which features a wonderfully rich view of the Bermuda islands both past and present.
Aquarium
The aquarium is home to more than 200 species of fish and shows off a beautiful coral reef like those that are found around the islands. A monster tank holding 140,000 gallons of salt water is a wonderful place to stop and see sharks, lobster, barracuda and groupers just to name a few. Check the schedule to make sure you stop by at the right time and you can see the feeding of the seals.

Museum
The museum at BAMZ shows the geological makeup of the islands and how the uniqueness of the islands has posed challenges to Bermudians both past and present. Interactive audio and video clips make learning about the islands fun for both children and adults.
Zoo
The BAMZ zoo is part of an international program for breeding endangered species. This allows the zoo to be home to a wide variety of rare animals and birds. Sea turtles, seals and monkeys are just a couple of the many wildlife species to be seen at the zoo. A covered habitat lets visitors get up close and personal with gorgeous birds and small monkeys. You can also get guided tours daily.

Bermuda Botanical Gardens
Bermuda is full of unique flowers and trees, and one of the best places to view the variety and beauty of the Bermuda plant life is at the Botanical Gardens. The Botanical Gardens is a 35 acre park that is landscaped with trees, flowers and shrubs all marked so that visitors know exactly what they are looking at. Tours run through the garden a couple of days a week, so be sure to call and find out the schedule. The walking tour of the Botanical Gardens takes about an hour and a half.
Dolphin Quest
Enjoy a dream moment by having a close encounter with a dolphin at Dolphin Quest. Dolphin Quest is located in Dockyard and offers visitors the unique opportunity of meeting, feeding and even swimming with bottlenose dolphins. Even summer camps and shadowing dolphin trainers are available. If you are looking for something new for your summer or just something special to do for the day, consider meeting a dolphin.

Bermuda National Gallery

Special exhibitions are on display at times, but there are also permanent collections, entertainment selections and even educational programs. The Bermuda National Gallery is located in the city of Hamilton. Bring the world of Bermuda art into your life with a trip to the Bermuda National Gallery.

Forts of Bermuda
Also located throughout the islands are forts left over from the early days of Bermuda history. The early settlers of Bermuda built the forts to keep the islands protected and many of those forts are still standing today. Some of the forts are free to walk around but the well maintained forts require a head charge to keep with their upkeep. Fort St. Catherine’s and Fort Hamilton are just a couple of the many historical landmarks still left on the islands.
In addition to all of the wonderful attractions to check out on the Bermuda islands, don’t forget to spend some quality time enjoying the sun on one of the many pink sand beaches.
